We should know. Guided Business Plan has grown tremendously due to the WBDC’s decision to use the GUIDED Business Plan™ curricula as the cornerstone of some of their most popular entrepreneur education courses. In 2011 Meg Herman, Director of Entrepreneurial Services, responded to one of our outreach calls to try an unknown program that purported to have participants leave with a draft of their Executive Summary in 3-hours. She received approval from the founders to license one of our first training programs. Meg found success with the program and contacted Guided Business Plan to expand the curriculum into a customized 12-session course for their Plan for Profit course designed for newer businesses.

We worked closely for a couple of months to produce an interactive training format that could be replicated by multiple trainers. Participants ended each module with a brief presentation of their plan and wrote more comprehensive business plans.

Just before the holidays in 2013, Meg called from a conference room surrounded by her colleagues responsible for other programs. They wanted to use the existing curriculum for growing businesses, military veterans and Spanish-speaking clients. Guided Business Plan was given the opportunity to create new content for two of these audiences which resulted in two new GUIDED Business Plan™ book titles: Build to Scale and Military CEO. The Plan for Profit Facilitator Training Package was translated into Spanish.

The WBDC continues to expand its program offerings throughout Illinois and we are proud to be part of the team. More than proud. It takes a series of yes’ to build a business from concept into one that has a far-reaching impact and WBDC has fueled our trajectory early on. We are honored to join the WBDC as they “accelerate women’s business ownership and strengthen their impact on the economy.”
